Heritage Week 2014

 

As part of Heritage Week 2014 Fadó Archaeology conducted a guided tour to the Holy Well at Doonierin shore and the nearby Holy Well in Kintogher. Exploring the archaeology of Holy Wells and Pilgrimage and discussing the folklore and traditions associated with these sacred places.

School Visit to Drumcliff South Ringfort

 

Fadó Archaeology brought classes from Rathcormac National School to visit the raised rath in the townland of Drumcliff South, Rathcormac. All age groups enjoyed their visit to this fine example of a ringfort and were told all about this monument type, the stories associated with them and what an archaeologist does.
